Look what I can do!

Aren't these pictures amazing???  Thank you!  Yes, that's right--yours truly took these pictures.  I know it's not good form to compliment yourself....but it's my blog and I really was proud of this.  I just didn't know I had it in me! I even got to play around with actions on my computer--it was AWE-SOME!

So, that was a really bad way to start a post. I should have introduced my new niece first (I know--really bad, right?)  This is little Maisie Louise--she was born on July 7th and she is such a cutie!  She has the most cutest wrinkly forehead I've ever seen.

However, the thing is--I'm not sure if my sister wants me to make her debut--before she does.  But, I figure since she never reads my blog and she hasn't updated her blog since April 1995, then I can do it AND get away with it.  Just so long as no one tells her!  (It's our little secret!)

Meanwhile, just enjoy these tiny baby feet and that voluminous hair....oh, the hair!

Son-In-Law

Jeremy's done a lot of reading while my parents have been in town.... :)

Tri-athlete Nielson

Jeremy competed in his 3rd triathalon on May 29th.  Last year, this same race was held in the fall, when it was much warmer, but due to the appearance of a certain bacteria (of which shall not be named...) the swim had to be cancelled.  So this year, the competitors had to endure the icy temps of the lake.  However, this was the perfect excuse for Jeremy to purchase a wetsuit....

The race was in our neighborhood, which made it really fun--we didn't have to battle traffic or anything!  So, can you see which swimmer is Jeremy?  I'll give you a hint:  he's wearing a black wetsuit, orange swimcap and goggles.  See him?

Jeremy's parents came with us too--they helped take the kids on the numerous necessary bathroom breaks....

I love this picture!  Look at all these cool bikes--I would love to do the tri next year...anyone with me?  I think it would be awesome to do the swim in my polka dot swimsuit and then ride my beach cruiser.  yeah, that would be awesome...

There he is!  See him??? Green shorts white sweater.  In my haste, I took 10 pictures before I turned the camera on--then he was pretty much gone.  And no, he wasn't wearing spandex.  I thought it would be pretty funny, but he wouldn't go for it.

Such pretty flowers!  This is while we were waiting at the finish line.  Kennedy picked flowers while Bridger did his best Elvis impersonation (see below...) that kid has some serious hip action.  Not sure who he inherited that from, but it's dangerous...

"Come on Jeremy!  You can do it! By the way, can you bring us back a water and some oreos after you cross the finish line?"

He's awesome!  What a great example for our kids :)  And he still had the energy to pose for a few pictures.  What a man!

With Shauna and Alan--they are so supportive!

And with us--we're supportive too :)  and those aren't cavities in the picture..they're cookie crumbs.  He did bring us back some oreos.  That wasn't a joke....

Afterwards, we enjoyed the free kites, drinks and sidewalk chalk at SoDa Row in Daybreak.  Then we tried that new Mexican place--it was pretty good.  They had these paper dolls on all the tables...Kennedy couldn't take her eyes of them! :)

Seriously...anybody want to do it next year?
