Thanksgiving was at my house this year and I was happy to have my entire family over! First time in a long time that we have all been together. My mom and dad and brother Sean came in from California and my sisters Rebecca and Vanessa, and brothers Jordan and Addison and their families came too. We have four babies that are 1 years old in our family, so it was fun to see 4 high chairs at the table!
I made a paper bag turkey stuffed with popcorn a la martha and it was a big hit--mostly with bridger :)
Thank you Jordan for massaging our turkey before it was deep fried--I'm sure it helped to relax the turkey's muscles and put it in a state of zen before it was plunged into a deep vat of hot oil....
We made little pilgrim hat cookies--which were fun but not thought out too well on my part---didn't think about the fact that I would be hearing this over and over again: "Can I have another one? Please? Just one more? Please? Please please please please please please!!!!!!!!!" Ugh.
Hors d'oeurvre's on Thanksgiving are a must! Salami and fancy cheeses, yummy shrimp and more!
And the pies...we had so many pies...a curse and a blessing. Why a curse? Because I felt the need to try each pie so I wouldn't miss out and I really didn't want to make any one feel bad... (yes, that's my story...) so I had 4 pieces. Don't judge me!
p.s. do you see that pumpkin pie above? I was so happy with how that turned out! the crust is made out of cinnamon rolls and it was divine!!! I just made my regular pie crust and turned it into one big cinnamon roll, sliced thinly and then placed on a pie plate! We also had harvest fruit and nut pie, sweet potatoe pie with meringue topping and pecan pie torte. Delish!
Mushroom turnovers....my favorite!!!!
And the turkey, in all of it's fried cajun glory!!!
Oh, it's me!! See, proof that I actually was there!

And Charlotte of course!
Homemade rolls...which turned out almost exactly like Jeremy's mom's! Almost... :)
What's the name of that white carrot vegetable? The name escapes me! Oh, well--it's in the white pot and my favorite stuffing is in the red--with pine nuts and fresh mushrooms--yum!
And of course we had mashed potatoes and sweet potatoe mallow...
Addison.
And my dad carving the turkey...
Hello Jeremy!
Wow--Vanessa sure is taking a lot of sweet potatoes!!! :)

And to completely justify our caloric intake during the meal, we went outside for a quick 10 minute game of flag football... ha ha! okay, really it was longer than that! And who am I to talk? I only cheered from the sidelines!!!
