An update....

Here is an update of what my kids have been doing lately: Bridger thinks that having old tires for next door neighbors is the best thing ever. He plays in the dirt all day long (and to be honest, I don't mind...). And every morning he says: "What are we going to do today, Mom?" and I had better have a good answer! He only cries because he wants more candy (which is suprisingly often...) and he loves to go to the library--he doesn't have the patience to learn to write his name, but he has every book in his room memorized. Lately, his service to the family has been to inform us of the different dinosaurs that are still alive and threatening our community. There's the "mack-o-saurus"--he eats up everybody's macaroni and cheese and the "bead-o-saurus" eats houses and lives under the roads--watch out everybody! And Bridger's other love is the radio. Heaven forbid if I change the channel in the middle of the song.... You can find him singing such lyrics as:

  • "I've got a submarine, you've got gasoline, let's not talk about a war between nations" (U2)
  • "It was a long and cold december, from the rooftops I remember there was snow, white snow" (Coldplay)
  • "You might be a big fish, in a little pond" (Coldplay again--they're his favorite)
  • "I hate that stupid old pickup truck you never let me drive" (Taylor Swift)
  • "I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairytale" (Taylor Swift--he won't admit it but I think she's his favorite too)
  • "Cowgirls don't cry. Ride baby ride." (Brooks and Dunn)

Now onto Kennedy--I think she has reached the 'terrible two's' and she's not even two yet! What am I going to do with her??? This is the face she makes on a regular basis. It's the "I'm-going-to-make-this-face-until-I-get-what-I-want-or-until-my-face-gets-tired" face. Seriously, she was so easy before, now she is so demanding!

And sometimes, if you're lucky, she'll clench her fists and her body will shake--it is truly a sight to behold! Why is she even crying here?? I mean, she is licking the spoon, is she not?
But I am enjoying her talking more--she has the sweetest, softest voice and she is starting to say so much! "I want lipstick." "Bridger's cute." "Where's my purse?" "I want chocate." "Grandpa's in Forida." "Where's Kendede's Daddy?" "I need a tissue." (as she is unrolling the whole roll of toilet paper!!)
Since she loves all things girly, I attempted to paint her finger and toe nails red the other day. She hated every minute of it. I only got half done. Bridger on the other hand, didn't think it was fair the Kennedy was the only one to have bloody nails, he wanted bloody nails too. Needless to say, he sat very still for me--I hope Kennedy paid close attention. :)

Free Giveaway!!!

So, my best friend, Lois, is having a free giveaway on her blog. She makes the most adorable letters ever (I'm hoping I'll get one....) and all you have to do is post her address (which I am doing right now...)

http://charactersbylois.blogspot.com/

Check it out--they are the cutest things!

And I have to say that Lois and I have been best friends for 16 years. She was there for me during that awkard time...you know...bad hair, glasses, retainer--the works :) We always have good (embarrasing) times together. She's heard me say many embarrasing things in my sleep and I've watched her go through many many boyfriends :) We've danced like maniacs at stake dances, jumped in pools with our clothes on and even survived a small house fire (another story for another day...). We even had matching dresses--three different ones---and no, we were not 3---but, I won't say how old we were---it's too embarrasing (and no one better say in the comments either!) We love to make blueberry pies (now the gluten free variety) and eat chimichangas (well, I don't know that they make those gluten free yet...). Here's a pic of us at my wedding--almost 8 years ago. It's a bad pic--really a picture of a picture....FYI, it was at my wedding that Lois kissed her future husband for the first time--and because of this they were late to my dinner! :)

Anyway, hopefully this little tribute will get me another entry in her drawing!!! :)

I love Rascal Flatts!

So, this post is extremely late--but, oh well. A few weeks ago Jer and I got to go to the Rascal Flatts concert--and it was amazing! We had so much fun up in those nose bleed seats :) The concert started out with a loud explosion (well, really it started out with Jessica Simpson, but she's not my favorite...) and I thought I was going to plummet to my death--they should not be allowed to scare people that are sitting on the roofline--seriously, Jeremy even got whacked (my lack of reflex control) because the fireworks were so loud!

Jessica's pretty fuzzy here, but that's okay--her shorts were immodest :)

But really I'm not complaining, the stage was amazing and all of their lights and effects were amazing too! At the end of the concert, balloons and confetti fell out of the sky--now, this happened at Coldplay too. So I have decided that we are sitting within "balloon catching" range next time we go to a concert!

Here we are waiting for Jessica to finish singing :) And we had the great pleasure of sitting next to a bunch of what I am assuming were BYU freshmen--they were dancing up a storm! They were pulling out the 'lawnmower' for crying out loud! Okay, really I was a little jealous, I kinda wanted to dance with them.....I could've done the robot.....

And even though we didn't get to sit together (oversight on our part...) we went to dinner and the concert with Emilee and Joel--they are so fun--we had a great time with them and a great time texting back and forth about Jessica's love life :)

So...who wants to go to Kenny Chesney????

My House Part II

So, here is the other half of my house pictures. This is my front door--I love how tall it is and I really love the brick front porch.
I also wanted to relay how excited I am to have a little bigger garage. Before, I had to squeeze myself out of a cracked open car door--about 8 inches of wiggle room--but now I can swing the doors open wide! It is so lovely!

No, my cat was not just hit by a car, although it does look that way....

But it does show how much room there is in front of my car--my cat is about 6 feet tall. That's a lot of room!

Here is a picture of my craft room. Okay, fine--it's not really mine.....yet..... (evil laughter....)

The real craft room is pretty much empty of cuteness, but full of miscellaneous junk--but here are the three cute little square windows at the top. :)
But great things are destined for this room! Great Pottery Barn things...... :)

Here is our back door--which also opens into the craft room--such pretty doors!

Now this wall I LOVE! It's all molding and it makes me happy.

I also love these columns and the tall tall baseboards--so old fashioned looking.

Here is our sunroom--isn't it just perfect for a baby grand piano?? We'll probably get one around the same time that we get my pottery barn craft room... :)

And here is our lovely family room/dining/kitchen area. I love how cozy it all is. So nice, and the ceiling opens up onto an open stairway/hallway on the second floor--does that make sense? It's nice and open--we just have to make sure that Bridger doesn't try to throw anything over the railing or that our cat doesn't try to jump (he has tried already!)

And aren't the hangers neato? I found them at my all-time-new-favorite store: "home again" They are vintage and from all over (NY, FL, CA and UT) --they're currently residing in my front coat closet--how fun--it is my new collection. The front one is from Anniversary Inn though, we kind of borrowed it 8 years ago...oops...sure looks great in my new collection though!

Okay, I'm finally posting pics of the house.....

We have moved. It is official. Today is our 8 day anniversary of it, in fact. And I have to say that I am still so sad to leave my wonderful/amazing/fun neighborhood, but I LOVE my new home. I LOVE it! Bridger and Kennedy love the new house too. Although, Bridger thinks that Tommy, Michael, Dominic, Lindsay and Marin are moving into the empty lots next door. Well, we can always hope... :)

I do miss our old house--it had so many memories! This is what I found when I moved the oven (really I was looking for lost toys, but I decided to clean anyways...) We painted that before Bridger was even born! I was kinda sad to leave it. Well, the new owners will probably never see it--our signatures will stay secret!

I was also sad to leave our kids' rooms. We painted and made curtains--Kennedy even had the cutest ribbon on her walls (it really was so cute). But that's okay--I took lots of pictures.

And boy was I happy to leave this mess! I cannot stand clutter--the boxes were the first things to go!

Our only casualty was our poor cat, Scout. He doesn't get a lot of attention on this blog--I'll have to do a post about him soon. We love him but he doesn't like to have his picture taken....
So, I have now learned that Scout is deathly scared of the movers--they took all of the furniture that he tried to hide under (poor thing!)--so we wrapped him in a towel and laid him in a basket. Makes sense, doesn't it??? He loved it there--so much that he didn't budge for over 24 hours! (at this point I was starting to worry about his bladder control!) He was a little timid in our new house for a few days, but you should be relieved to hear that he is back to his usual self (you know--tripping us down the stairs and biting our feet...) :)

During this crazy time, my mom came to stay with us and help watch the kids while we packed and unpacked. She was such a huge help and the kids loved all of her treats/gum/lipgloss and extra toothpaste (probably...)
We were all so sad to see her go--hopefully she can come back soon (and bring dad this time!)

So, here are a few pics of the new house. They are in completely random order--and after a few my batteries died (does anyone know where my charger is???) so I'll have to do a phase II.
This is our master bath. I love having a seperate shower--and a tub that I actually fit in! Sure I still have to scrunch up a little, but let me tell you--I have come a long way! And I think I just deleted a picture, but it was of our sink--we have two!!! This will save our marriage :) --no more spitting toothpaste on my hand Jeremy! And I guess I'll try not to spray him with hairspray (or perfume).

This is the kids bathroom--it's just kinda bright and cheery--I love the square window! p.s. our mirrors are all from Ross--they were $15 each--such a deal!

This is really kind of random, but I found this 'K' at a consignment shop in American Fork--isn't it just perfect for her room? I love how old it is. And I also love these flower knobs--they're from Anthropologie (love that store!) and I will use them to hang up her quilt--but I think I would like to get more for her dresser.....

Apparently the pictures keep getting randomer (is that a word??) probably not....more random...
So, when you live in a fine community like the one I live in :) your home owners fees go towards keeping the streets clean. And I mean this in a very literal sense. 8 men in bright orange shirts swept my street today. It was so bizarre--I almost expected them to break into song and dance or something. Isn't there a more efficient way of doing this...oh wait, I think it's called a STREET SWEEPER!!! Oh, well--I guess I don't want to endorse machinery taking over any more valuable (human) jobs... Good work, men!

And my floor--I love it! It's so nice and pretty. I just really love it!

Another great feature of our house? Our fridge. It is ginormous. Our buyers just had to have our old fridge, so we just had to buy a new one....
And I sure do have a lot of eggs in there....

So, I have a few favorite things in this house--but the kitchen is definetly at the top of the list!

And my farm sink--it's so charming, don't you think? Seriously, I don't have to do the dishes after every meal anymore--they can just pile up in the sink and no one would see them! I love all my counter space and the fact that I still have empty cupboards...just waiting to be filled!
Now, I just hope that I still get a lot of visiters. We have no neighbors! I will prove it to you when I find my battery charger (really though, has anyone seen it??)
