Bridger-ism Part II

My little Bridger is always more than entertaining and lately has been no exception. I have started writing his funny things on post-it notes, but figured I had better put them somewhere a little more permanent...
Above is a picture of Bridger and Kennedy watching the bobcat make trenches for our sprinklers--he is sitting on his favorite chair, there's an owl on the back--he calls it his "hoo hoo" chair--and he has for years....

This is Bridger and Kennedy being sweet to eachother in Costco. They took turns laying on each other's shoulders--how sweet (for once :) )!

Bridger's favorite thing to eat (besides candy and spagettios) is tomatoes. Big or small, he loves them all. He will go through this great big box of costco tomatoes in about 4 days. Here is he grabbing a handful--and trying to be sneaky about it (I try to use a little reverse psychology and let him think that he's having some kind of forbidden treat...seems to be working so far :))

While trying (unsuccessfully) to paint Kennedy's toes (she really hates it--another story for another day) Bridger decided that he wanted some "bloody" nails too. Is that the look he thinks I was going for with Kennedy??? Anyway, I let him--I did a couple of toes and a couple of fingers and he had a blast for the next few days pretending that he had just smashed his fingers...such a boy!

Here he is sleeping with his comfy basketball...not sure how comfy it really is, but he slept all night like this--with it right on his belly.

The basketball--view from his door

And I just had to throw this in, since Kennedy is getting to the age of having her own "isms". Here she is asleep with a sucker in her mouth. Check out those glossy, sticky lips!

  • And here's a few more stories of Brider over the last couple of weeks:

  • After Jer accidentally bumped into Bridger and said "sorry", Bridger responded with: "Sorry? Sorry doesn't cook the noodles, dad."

  • Bridger desperately wants to grow mashed potatoes in our garden this year.

  • The other day, Bridger came up to me--he was shaking all over and exclaimed that he was "dancing like an octopus sprayed with jiggle powder"

  • While playing with lego's , he was getting so frustrated that the pieces wouldn't stay together. I overheard him scolding his legos... "You're killing me! Everytime you break off you just kill me! Now stay together!"

  • While throwing a major tantrum, I told Bridger that he would have to go to his room and go to sleep until he can get happy. He said he was happy. I asked him why he was crying then and he said: "to get attention".

  • After telling Bridger that I loved him he said: "Thanks for loving me, mom." :)

  • While playing chess with Jer, Bridger said: "Dad, I have to go potty. Make sure that you don't kill any of my guys while I'm gone........and make sure that I win too!"

  • After giving Kennedy a pony ride, I was still on my hands and knees. Bridger said: "Mom! Stay right there! I"m going to pretend that you're a dinosaur and I'm an egg" (as he proceeded to curl up into a ball under me. He then asked me to sit on him to keep him warm and then he started to crack open--kicking his legs and arms out and making what he imagines to be baby dinosaur noises).....what a weirdo! :)

  • Lately, he has been wearing his helmet everywhere and all day around the house. After Kennedy threw a toy down from our loft--I got after Kennedy and then asked Bridger if he was okay. He said: "It's just a good thing I was wearing my helmet, mom. I'm okay!" now he wears his helmet even more :)

  • While trying to help him get dressed, he didn't want his sweater zipped up, exclaiming that he "looked way awesomer" that way.

  • Yesterday he said: "Mom, come into the bathroom, I want to show you something" (never a good thing....) He proceeded to show me how he can go while standing up (something i have tried to teach him in the past....he always sits down--I'm not complaining). He was so proud of himself. I asked him where he learned to do that and he said that he just made it up--"but wasn't that awesome???"

  • And finally, Bridger and Kennedy were both crying this morning. I was holding Bridger and he was concerned that I was going to pick up Kennedy too (I guess he wanted me all to himself). I told him that I wasn't going to and then Kennedy came over saying "I want to sit on mommy's lap". Bridger said: "No, mom--don't let her! She wants your brain! If you let her sit on your lap she will suck your brain out and you won't be able to think anymore. Don't take her brain Kennedy!" Well, Kennedy was rather dumbfounded. At least it stopped the crying :)

I'm having another party!

My cute and talented sister-in-laws have started their own business--Glistenings. So, I am having an open house party for them on:
Saturday, May 2nd
from 11-2 at my house

They have so many cute things!! From hand made cards and memory books to tags and cupcake gift boxes (darling!!!)
Jen has made all the cards and books--she has the best eye for design.
Emilee and Jen have both made the cutest hair clips for girls--out of felt, ribbon, flowers, jewels--they are soooo cute! And Emilee has made barrett clip holders (I definetly need one of these...) and jewlery travel rolls (bling bags), they are made out of the cutest colors (including zebra and leopard :) and ribbons). They also sell the most stylish baby gear--soft minky blankets and burp cloths and have I mentioned the jewlery?? They sell a ton of gorgeous jewlery and purses--just check out their blog and you will see the cutest giraffe print purse I have ever seen!
Anyway, please comment and I will send you directions to my house (unless you've already been here). This might be a good stop to buy a Mother's Day gift (for mom or for yourself :) ) And plus it would just be fun to visit with everyone :)
Here is a sample of some of the things that they make and sell. The owl memory book is my fav!!!

A biking we will go....

So, here's how our May-July goes: Bridger's b-day, mother's day, anniversary, my b-day, father's day, jer's b-day, kennedy's b-day, cat's b-day. Okay, that last one really doesn't count--we didn't get the cat a bike and he's probably thankful for that. This is our family gift to each other (although I still think we should take Mother's day out of the mix...) I haven't really ridden (is that a word???) a bike or owned one since I was 12--I had a purple bike with streamers. We would play COPS, go on long rides, chase down the ice cream truck--you name it. Eventually the streamers all got pulled out (thanks to little siblings) and then to top it off, my two brothers decided to take the whole thing apart. Yes, my bike was murdered by a 7 and 9 year old.
Anyway, haven't thought too much about it in recent years, but Jeremy (who loves to ride) came up with the brilliant idea of us all getting bikes. And I have to admit, it has been a blast. I think we rode over 30 miles this weekend and we are still wanting more!

Kennedy got this little trailor--Bridger fits in it too for those long rides where his training wheels and little legs get too tired to go. She love it--there's a cup holder and she gets to wear all of her necklaces--what more could you ask for??

We had a bike for Bridger--but he has yet to ride it. Apparently it is way too big, I guess we'll just save it for when he grows out of this one. He loves his new yellow bike--he loves that it can go in the dirt, but it's not supposed to go down hills--at least that's what he says (he has a small fear of the uncontrollable...)

Cute little faces in their little helmets! They both giggle when we go over bumps, but after we got home Bridger said that he would like some padding for next time :)

Our caravan

I know, that helmet is really attractive. You don't have to tell me.

Kennedy inherited Bridger's extra small bike--she loves it! She is so happy to have a little independence. She can't quite pedal yet, but there's a handle on back so we can just push her as we go. She'll get the hang of it soon enough. I just have to laugh at all of her "bling"--she doesn't leave home without it!

Gotta love that tounge--it always sticks out when she's concentrating.

And here's my bike--it makes me happy. There's even a little unintentional smiley face on the back!

How cute is that??? Just looking at it makes me want to put on some flip flops and eat a popsicle. It's so summer-y! No, it's not meant for the mountains, but I don't know if I'm really brave enough for that anyway. I'm more of a parade-route kind of rider.....
Have I mentioned that I have a little basket to go in front? Now I just need a bell....

This may be a little distrubing....

My sister was looking through the KSL classifieds yesterday when she found this ridiculous thing. She immediately emailed it to me. This is strange, disturbing and funny. Is it a joke? If it is, it's a good one. If it's not.....yikes.Post Date:Mar 31st, 2009

$3500 posterity mattress bed set. (antique)bicknell, UT 84456 - Mar 31, 2009Looking for someone to finally take our family heirloom. This bed has been passed on for 3 generations. Over 68yrs old! My grandmother was in a polygamist group but was unable to have children for many years. She was sad for her husband as he had 7 girls at the time from his 2 other wives, and no boys yet. She supposedly had an indian friend named Hiopai, who blessed my grandmothers bed that she would be able to have children. (sounds crazy and weird but it seemed to actually work) My grandmother got pregnant and eventually had 5 sons and 2 daughters. She could not get pregnant except on this bed. It was passed on to my mother who had 6 children (she abandoned them when she left the polygamist ranch) and had me 6 yrs later with her new husband. She was able to recover some of her things before I was born, one of which was this bed. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in my early twenties, and underwent surgery and most of my ovaries were scraped out and removed. The doctor told me I would never have children... ever! I have never had any children until we were kicked out of our trailer home 6 years ago and stayed at my sisters house for 8 months. The bed had been given to my sister who never married, and my boyfriend and I soon found that I was expecting soon after we moved in. It was a miracle! We now have 6 boys (two are twins) and absolutely believe this bed has energy to help struggling couples out. My sister drowned a few months ago, and we have since sold the house and are living in a motor home and moving to Wendover and have no room for this bed anymore. Would like to sell or even give to someone who needs it. It is old, but in good shape, the mattress has a few stains but is otherwise clean, but slightly faded. There is a small rip on the side of the top matress, about 3 inches long. (I think from our cat who actually had 4 kittens on this bed) The box spring is very creaky and rusted, but sturdy, (my mother was over 300 lbs and my dad about 130, it is heavy duty) the bed posts need a little restoring, as there are some scrapes and scratches here and there, and some bite marks (I think from from our old dog skipper) I would like to sell the bed complete as I dont know if it would still work if the mattresses were separated from the frame. The top matress is heavy (about 75-100lbs I would guess) so bring a couple people to carry it. Thanks for looking. Miracles can happen.

Like I said, wow.

Finally some family pictures!!!

I am so excited to finally have my families picture taken! It has been at least a year since my kids have been done and three since Jer and I were involved! How does time go by so fast? I have no idea. Luckily, our good friend Kara came to the rescue. She is a talented photographer (as you can see). I love this one with our legs and the kids--so cute!
Kara works for Emilie as a new photographer--I just love her style! And I hear that you can get a good deal right now too... I bet if you left a comment on Kara's blog she would get back to you pretty quickly.
Awww! Finally one of just me and the hubby. What you can't see is Kennedy holding onto my leg screaming her lungs out. Why must the devil posess my children on picture day? Later, Kennedy threw-up due to her high level of screaming and crying. Oh, the joys....

This one on the red bench--I just want to eat her!

And Bridger is such a poser--I love it! He is finally getting the hang of things. Every once in a while we have to tone down that crazy smile of his, but that's okay--just makes him even cuter :)

How cute are those red shoes???
Would it be weird to have these pictures in every frame in my house???

Easter Sunday

I love how not matter how gloomy the weather is before or after Easter, Easter Sunday is always glorious. We had a wonderful day together as a family and our kids looked so cute in their new easter clothes from Grammy and Grandpa. My mom hand smocked this dress for Kennedy--even the little armbands (which came out kind of blurry...) She looked adorable. She got new squeaky shoes too--which she loves--she loves to dance to her own music, but we decided to leave them off for church--these new squeakers are pretty loud!
Kennedy calls herself a princess when she wears a new dress. She loves this dress and cried when I took it off her after church. I had to replace it with another dress--one that could get dirty :)
I love this picture! Bridger is making a face as if he is kissing a frog, but it's still cute. What you don't see: Mom bribing with candy, Kennedy screaming for Bridger to stop "Stop, Bridgee, don't!" and Bridger trying to get the job done as fast as he can.
And for this picture, I told them there was a bug on my nose, so they both looked up at the same time. But I think it turned out pretty cute.
I am so thankful for such a beautiful Easter Sunday yesterday. As we tried to tell the story of the ressurection to Bridger and Kennedy, Bridger just shook his head and said: "I already know this stuff, Dad." But as we told him anyway...he listened in amazement. The story really kept his attention-as it should. I hope my kids know of Jesus' love for them--so much that he died for them. It is wonderful.
