Thanksgiving

Wow--I am so thankful for soooo many many things. I know I am so blessed and I try to realize just how much every single day. I don't know why I am so blessed--but I try not to ask questions :)

First I am thankful for my testimony--I am so thankful for Jesus Christ and for his love for me--I could go on and on about this, but I'll just keep it short and sweet.

I am thankful for my family--my parents and siblings (who we have a lot of fun being with--they are all great aunts and uncles--and I really wish some of them weren't moving....) I am so thankful for my in-laws--Jer has two wonderful parents, sisters, brothers and the cutest niece and nephews!!! I am so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful examples.

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband--and two of the most adorable children I have ever seen (yes, I know I am biased, but I think that's allowed...). We also have a pretty cute cat--even if he is scary big and bites me sometimes... :)

I have wonderful friends and neighbors and I am so blessed with freedoms-comfort-work-health-strength-peace of mind and happiness. Happy Thanksgiving!

Coldplay!!!!

We went to the Coldplay concert on Saturday night and it was so fun! Wow--they are so good--I can still hear the music in my head (literally--it was that loud....I must sound old right now...)

Anyway, we drove up and had dinner with my sister Rebecca and her husband Dave (are you enjoying my photoshop skills??? Yes, at least now we have a picture of the 4 of us, as cheesy as it may look....)--we ate at Z Tejas--it was sooo good--a must-go place if you've never been there.

Later, we ran into Jer's sister and her husband--they were sitting underneath us And then, sitting no more than 4 seats to the side of us were our good friends and neighbors--Adam, Sinika and Lindsay--I laughed forever about that--what are the chances?

Anyway, the concert was a blast!! Their music and lyrics are amazing--and I wish I had just a fraction of their energy! Next thing I want to see---Wicked.

Cute Kids!

The other day we went up to the U with Jer--he had a class so we waited for him outside his building. (And I'm sure this must have jinxed the Y---dangit!) Anyway, Bridger and Kennedy had a blast playing in the bazillion leaves--it was fun, but so hard to get a good picture! Those kids just won't sit still!

Prime example: Bridger is showcasing his famous "forced smile" while Kennedy gets mad at me for trying to pose her in an awkward position...how do the pros do it? I'm guessing they use lots of sugar....

It has begun....

Yippeee! Our new house is quickly being built (ummm..will somebody please buy our house???) :)

Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year!! Lots of fun parties and lots of good food and candy!

Kennedy was a ballerina and Bridger was a fireman (he's only a little obsessed with fires...)

Here are the kids with their cute cousins--the star football player and hannah montana. My kids just adore them!!!

Bridger, bobbing for apples at one of our Halloween parties--he went three times and ate three whole apples--I was glad it helped to balance out all that candy!

My mom was able to come to the Halloween party with us--she makes a pretty witch!

Yes, here we are--the pirate family--although I have to say that Jer reminded us a little more of Fabio than of Jack Sparrow... :)

My brother, Jordan threw another party--they had yummy food and we told scary stories in the dark (ooohhhh, spooky!!!)--then we finished out the night by watching funny movies on You Tube--we had a blast. So, here is Billy Ray and his punk rocker

And here is (another) Hannah Montana (my sister, Rebecca--who really needs to write on her blog!!!!) and her bodyguard (j/k--Dave is much more distinguished than that...) :)
So, we were losers and didn't dress up--but it was hard enough just to get out of the house! We'll do better next year...

Our cute friends, the Wilkinson's, came over for some Halloween dinner and then went trick-or-treating with us. We had a lot of fun with them

--this picture is out of order--but this was dinner and Grandma and Grandpa's--they sent us home with yummy caramel apples and lots of other cute treats! They are so good to us!

Here is Kennedy digging through Bridger's stash--what a stinker!! She has such a sweet tooth! Every time I opened the pantry door (and she saw that purple bucket) she would cry and cry for candy! Sorry, Kennedy--life is tough sometimes...

Tommy and Bridger had a great time trick-or-treating together! Bridger would run ahead and do the knocking and Tommy would follow behind and do all the talking--they had a great system worked out!

And of course the little girls--Faith and Kennedy (a flower and a ballerina)--they were so good to go out in the rain--Kennedy was happy as long as she had her fists full of candy--we had some mighty, mushy, melted chocolate by the time we got home!

Dutch Ovens!

We had such a great time last weekend enjoying the last of the fall weather and the last of the pretty leaves!! We went up the canyon with our good friends, Jeff and Leigh--we were both newly weds in the same apartment complex in Houston, TX--now they live so close and we love it!! It has been fun to watch eachother's families grow--they have the most adorable children!
This is a great picture of Bridger--believe it or not, this is him drinking Sprite for the first time...he said (talking to Leigh): "Wow, this is really good--I've never had this before!"

poor, sheltered Bridger....

truth is, I don't think he has, last time I gave it to him he thought it was too "spicy"--looks like he has gotten over that! He held on to his Sprite the whole night--wouldn't let it out of his iron-strong grip--this also explained the multiple bathroom trips he needed that night (those poor trees....) :)

My sweet Kennedy--she loved hanging out with the kids--she wishes she were so much bigger! Mostly, she loved all the food, the baby (little Ian--I guess I don't have a picture of him...) and their dog, Bear (to which Bridger said: "why do they call him a bear when he is so nice???")

On the way up the canyon--she dumped her water all over herself, so she had to wear her little pajamas the rest of the night--that should explain the bright red legs tucked into her shoes!

The kids and their Sprite--my kids had a blast and so did we. Nothing better than dutch ovens in the mountains with great company! --we had chicken enchiladas and mississippi mud cake--it was great!
