Here's the pictures!

We finally have pictures (thanks to my mom)!! Of course they're out of order--since I didn't think about it soon enough, but you get the idea.

Here we are doing an easter egg hunt --Bridger found almost all the eggs (since he was the only child in attendance) but he loved every minute of it.
Here's our cat, Scout, asleep in my mom's easter basket. He is so funny...

The whole family

Of course, a Horst family get together is not complete without a wrestling match of some kind. My new brother-to be-in law is learning jujitsu and just had to teach us some holds. :) Sorry Jordan, but I couldn't resist posting this picture (as Dave looks on with a sinister smile...) :)
Bridger painted easter eggs--all of them were pink
Our Easter table--thank you to Rheanna who got married last week--I got to take home one of her centerpieces from her reception! The easter lillies in it smelled sooo good!
The finished product.

Poor Bridger, wanted to go outside so badly. I couldn't resist taking a picture of his sad face (it only made him angrier...) He has the biggest crocodile tears...

And here is sweet Kennedy in her new Easter dress. I am proud of myself for being able to make this, although I did get lots of help from my mom, I think it looks so cute on her! The edges are all scalloped (that was a little painstaking) and I learned how to do 'piping'--the smocking was pretty fun and not as difficult as I once imagined it to be. Hmmm, what should I make her next.... :) Jen made that cute cute flower for her headband, makes her look like a little Easter baby!

Easter!

Okay, so I have been waiting to post until I can find the batteries to my camera (so that I can take some pictures) but I guess you will all just have to use your imaginations...Actually I have the batteries, just not the charger. I have looked everywhere!!!! I'm wondering if Bridger took it somewhere--don't know where yet, but I am so determined to find it!

Anyway, so we had a great Easter weekend. On Saturday we had a neighborhood easter egg hunt and Bridger was really excited. We told him that as soon as the prayer was over he could go--and that's what he did. He ran serpentine all over the field collecting only the eggs that caught his fancy. It was so funny to watch. He would run past 20 just to get a certain one...He loved the candy and the donuts for breakfast. On Sunday morning, the Easter Bunny left his trail of jellybeans (that sounds kind of gross now that I've written it, but you get the idea) all the way from Bridger and Kennedy's room to thier easter baskets (well, just Bridger's, Kennedy didn't have one--is that wrong? I figured she wouldn't care and I did make her an easter dress--with pictures soon coming--i hope--).

There was a jelly bean on each stair and Bridger was trying to hold them all in his little fists--he did not trust Jer or I to hold the jelly beans for him, so it was a 10 minute journey to his basket while he tried to figure out a system. :) In his basket was some candy and a little motorcycle ("mokocycle"as he calls it.)

He was so excited. He was almost equally excited to wear his new Sunday clothes to church (he loves new shoes!). After church we had my family over for dinner. We colored eggs and did an easter egg hunt. My brother Jordan gave a little devotional and then we ate dinner! I made chicken cordon bleu, au gratin potatoes, sauteed green beans, homemade rolls (good but a little dense :) ) and salad. We had key lime pie for dessert. My favorite part is setting the table though, I think it turned out really cute--hopefully I can get pics of that later too.

Oh, and one more thing. As I walked into church yesterday--wearing a new outfit--I ran into a girl (from another ward--luckily..) who was wearing the exact same thing!!! Same shirt and same skirt together--how embarrassing! It was really kind of funny--but sad too. It's hard to be unique in Utah Valley sometimes...oh, well--it won't stop me from wearing my new easter dress..even if I do have a twin out there...

okay, I have something else to say too. I just want to say how much I have enjoyed sharing the story of the ressurrection with Bridger and Kennedy this year. Bridger seemed to understand and in his prayers now he gives thanks for easter and Jesus. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the easter bunny I really wanted my kids to know that the real reason is the Savior. He gave us everything and made it possible for us to repent and to live together as an eternal family. I am so thankful for that.

Dream Machine

Yeah! I just got a Kitchenaid Mixer-- I have been dying for one and my time has finally come. It's a 6 quart so I can make 3 batches of cookie dough or 3 loaves of bread at a time. I am so excited to use it. I think I will make some bread now...bye!

Paper Boy

Bridger got his picture in the Deseret News today! We attended the open house of the new South Jordan Animal Shelter (Jer works for the city...) ---I think it turned out sooo cute!

Sweet Boy...

Our silly Bridger always says the funniest things, but sometimes he just melts my heart. We were having scripture time after dinner the other night and he was bouncing around all over the place (a regular event for us....) so we gave him a pop quiz afterward to see if he had been listening (we were sure he hadn't). We were reading about missionary work so we asked him about my brother who is serving a mission right now. We asked where Uncle Addison was and Bridger said: on a mission in"Souf Af-i-ka"--then we asked what he was doing there, Bridger said "Heavenly Father is talking to him"...(wow, we were really impressed!) Then, wondering what else he would say we asked what else Uncle Addison was doing and Bridger said "Playing with dump trucks"-----oh, the 2-year old came back :)

Here's a pic of my brother in South Africa. I asked him to bring all those children home to me... :)

Ka-Chow!

Last weekend, we went to the car show at the expo center--we had a ton of fun and Bridger got to meet Lightening McQueen! He was in complete awe and would barely take the time to look at the camera for a picture.
The first thing he wanted to do was get in and drive away, but unfortuantely we weren't able to...
We also ran into Bumblebee from Transformers. Bridger has absolutely no idea what transformers are (although Jeremy was quite excited:)) but we took his picture (or tried to) anyway.
There were hundreds of exotic cars--none in our price range--but they were fun to look at...also fun to look at: the overabundance of people with mulletts, tattoes and leather chaps... :)

My First Tag!!!

A. The rules of this game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player answers the question about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, and then leaves a comment on their blog letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog to get the directions.

Questions:

10 yrs ago: Okay, I was 15 and a sophomore in highschool. What was I doing? Well, I was in the band, so I was probably involved in some kind of spring musical or something. And since I was living in Florida at this time, I'm sure I was enjoying the warm weather and the beach--which I am really missing right now! I was probably also counting down the days to my 16th birthday (doesn't every girl do that?)

5 Things on my list of things to do today: I have to finish Kennedy's easter dress (by Sunday...yikes!), I have to make dinners tonight (for my dinner group...chicken pot pie). I have to go to the doctor (Kennedy needs a flu shot and I think I have a sinus infection...not fun...). I need to RSVP to Jeremy's cousin's wedding shower and I have to go to Broadbent's today to buy some thread--which will help me accomplish task #1. Oh, and I am trying to forget about all the mundane tasks that need to be completed....laundry...bathrooms...and grocery shopping...

Things I would do if I was suddenly a Billionaire: I will try to keep the list short--even though there are a billion things I would do... Of course I would pay off the house and then make it exactly the way I want it. I would travel--probably to Spain first (that's where Jeremy went on his mission) I would create a charity to help women in third world countries and then I would bank the rest and live off the interest for the rest of my life (don't I sound like Jeremy now? :))

3 of my bad habits: The first one is a little weird--I extremely dislike when the pillows are off the couch (the decorative ones...)this habit is really annoying too--cause Bridger is always throwing them off--I probably put the pillows back on the couch (in the proper order) 50 times a day...I have serious pillow issues. My second habit revolves around the 409. I feel the need to disinfect everything! I am always spraying counters, stove, microwave, sink, remote control and telephone with the 409, but I guess that habit benefits other people, right? When I was pregnant with Bridger I couldn't find the 409 anywhere--searched the house for it. Finally, around dinner time I found it in the freezer (that just proves that you really do lose braincells while pregnant...) it was all slushy. :) And my last bad habit? Never going to the doctor...I diligently take Bridger and Kennedy but I can't remember the last time I went to the doctor just because I was sick--Probably 6 years ago when I had mono...I think I have had a sinus infection for almost 3 weeks--I even put going on my to do list in hopes that I would actually go! I'm not afraid of the doctor or anything, I just never get around to it I guess...

Places I have lived: Here we go: Searcy and Little Rock, Arkansas (born there); Crestview, Callaway, Lynn Haven, Marianna and then Lynn Haven, Florida again; Calgary, Canada; St. George and South Jordan, Utah; Houston, Texas; and now Saratoga Springs!

Jobs I have had: My first job was a car hop at Sonic (Luckily, I didn't have to wear rollerskates, but I made really good tips!!!) I also made all the drinks and to this day whenever I smell a lime I instantly think of my good ole days at Sonic. Then, I worked at Old Navy, Tropsicals (a glorified snow cone shack, I was the manager--arent' you impressed?), Then Outrageous Teriyaki a little teriyaki sushi place. I learned how to use a wok (and flip the stir fry), chop really fast with a big knife, and how to make California rolls--it was really fun. I worked mostly with a couple from Mexico--I taught them English and they taught me Spanish, but it didn't stick too well. I was working here during the time I started dating Jeremy. Then, while at BYU I worked at an after school program at an elementary school in Provo--I taught musical theater (dont' ask why...) and at the end of the school year we put on a musical, The Ugly Duckling--the kids were so great in it!!! My last paying job was as a Homeless Assistant at Midvale Middle School, I helped track the needs of the homeless students at the school. I worked out of the attendance office with Rhonda (whom I love!!!) and we had a lot of fun. Now I am a house master and mother--by far the hardest but most rewarding job ever! :)

Okay, so now it's my turn to tag. I tag Lois and Doug, Kahlia and Leigh--have fun!

Kennedy's first food!

So, these pictures were actually taken about a month ago--you will be happy to hear that Kennedy has since mastered carrotts, sweet potatoes and butternut squash... Of course, for her first feeding, we gave her rice cereal. She liked it--but she loved the attention. Doesn't she look like the center of attention?

Bridger took a turn at feeding her and thought that was pretty fun. Bridger was also eating cereal (the big kid variety) and really wanted us to take a picture of him, so we did. He was very proud of himself!
