Happy Mother's Day!!!

What a wonderful weekend it was--love celebrating mother's day (especially now that I am one :) ). Jeremy and Bridger made me breakfast on Sunday morning--in the dutch oven (I was very impressed). They made breakfast turnovers and scrambeled eggs with juice and strawberries (yummy!!!) then Jeremy proceeded to do the dishes all day--change most of the diapers and took care of the kids needs. I felt very spoiled but must confess, this is how he is on a regular basis. He is always happy to do things around the house and help with the kids--I am so lucky! As a tradition, for the past three years, Jeremy has always given a cute children's book with their cute little hands and feet stamped on the inside cover--it is so sweet to look back and see how they've grown! But, you should know--the first year, Jeremy used a permanent ink pad and Bridgers' hands and feet were blue for 3 days!!

Also wanted to say Happy Mothers Day to my mom. I love how happy she always is and how much she loves Bridger and Kennedy. She always has a little "treat" for them (and they know it!). My mom loves to tease but she also loves to be teased, which can be really fun at times... :) Growing up, she was always making us things--cookies after school, matching dresses for me and my cabbage patch doll I always had the funnest birthday parties (the first one I remember was a Barbie birthday--when Barbie was still cute and wholesome---everyone came dressed as Barbie and I got lots of barbie presents!). When she was little, she wished her name was Red Rose (instead of Cynthia) and secretly still wishes is was :) and she went to school to be a fashion designer. She taught me all of my favorite crafts (including how to sew and smock in a month...). She is also a Breast Cancer Survivor, I'm sure her most difficult trial. Hopefully she knows how much I appreciate her and what a great example she is to me!

My mother-in-law, Shauna is so wonderful! I feel so blessed to have married into such a wonderful family, where they don't even use the term "in-law". She is so great--is always doing fun things for the kids and makes up the funnest traditions---like, taking all the kids for the Fourth-of-July and getting them a flag shirt--they love that! I love how 'Martha' she is--our family parties always have the most gorgeous centerpieces with coordinating paper plates and napkins, it is so fun just to see what she has 'thrown' together. She keeps a beautiful home and garden and helped me pick out some flowers this year (green thumbs run in the family...) And most importantly, I thank her for raising such a great son--she taught him how to clean the bathrooms, do the laundry and (with the help of two older sisters...) be sensitive to his wife! :)

On Saturday, I got to run in the Race for the Cure with my running group. I thought it was very fitting for Mother's Day weekend since both my mom and my grammy are breast cancer survivors and my grandma has passed away from breast cancer.

We took trax up to the Gateway (it took a while, but at least we got seats and Bridger loved it!).

Here we are: Lindsay, Naoma, Sinika, me and Rachel--they are such gorgeous girls!!
By the end of the race, Kennedy was zonked out, she and Bridger were so good! Bridger helped me eat my banana and orange (--of course, it's always more exciting to eat fruit when it doesn't come from the fridge at home...)

Great pics of the kids and Mom's. Loved your post, all so true. Jeremy is a great guy, hate to admit it but he is :) I think I will pass along this info to Ryan. Maybe they can work together next year on Mother's Day :)
