Bridger-ism Part II

My little Bridger is always more than entertaining and lately has been no exception. I have started writing his funny things on post-it notes, but figured I had better put them somewhere a little more permanent...
Above is a picture of Bridger and Kennedy watching the bobcat make trenches for our sprinklers--he is sitting on his favorite chair, there's an owl on the back--he calls it his "hoo hoo" chair--and he has for years....

This is Bridger and Kennedy being sweet to eachother in Costco. They took turns laying on each other's shoulders--how sweet (for once :) )!

Bridger's favorite thing to eat (besides candy and spagettios) is tomatoes. Big or small, he loves them all. He will go through this great big box of costco tomatoes in about 4 days. Here is he grabbing a handful--and trying to be sneaky about it (I try to use a little reverse psychology and let him think that he's having some kind of forbidden treat...seems to be working so far :))

While trying (unsuccessfully) to paint Kennedy's toes (she really hates it--another story for another day) Bridger decided that he wanted some "bloody" nails too. Is that the look he thinks I was going for with Kennedy??? Anyway, I let him--I did a couple of toes and a couple of fingers and he had a blast for the next few days pretending that he had just smashed his fingers...such a boy!

Here he is sleeping with his comfy basketball...not sure how comfy it really is, but he slept all night like this--with it right on his belly.

The basketball--view from his door

And I just had to throw this in, since Kennedy is getting to the age of having her own "isms". Here she is asleep with a sucker in her mouth. Check out those glossy, sticky lips!

  • And here's a few more stories of Brider over the last couple of weeks:

  • After Jer accidentally bumped into Bridger and said "sorry", Bridger responded with: "Sorry? Sorry doesn't cook the noodles, dad."

  • Bridger desperately wants to grow mashed potatoes in our garden this year.

  • The other day, Bridger came up to me--he was shaking all over and exclaimed that he was "dancing like an octopus sprayed with jiggle powder"

  • While playing with lego's , he was getting so frustrated that the pieces wouldn't stay together. I overheard him scolding his legos... "You're killing me! Everytime you break off you just kill me! Now stay together!"

  • While throwing a major tantrum, I told Bridger that he would have to go to his room and go to sleep until he can get happy. He said he was happy. I asked him why he was crying then and he said: "to get attention".

  • After telling Bridger that I loved him he said: "Thanks for loving me, mom." :)

  • While playing chess with Jer, Bridger said: "Dad, I have to go potty. Make sure that you don't kill any of my guys while I'm gone........and make sure that I win too!"

  • After giving Kennedy a pony ride, I was still on my hands and knees. Bridger said: "Mom! Stay right there! I"m going to pretend that you're a dinosaur and I'm an egg" (as he proceeded to curl up into a ball under me. He then asked me to sit on him to keep him warm and then he started to crack open--kicking his legs and arms out and making what he imagines to be baby dinosaur noises).....what a weirdo! :)

  • Lately, he has been wearing his helmet everywhere and all day around the house. After Kennedy threw a toy down from our loft--I got after Kennedy and then asked Bridger if he was okay. He said: "It's just a good thing I was wearing my helmet, mom. I'm okay!" now he wears his helmet even more :)

  • While trying to help him get dressed, he didn't want his sweater zipped up, exclaiming that he "looked way awesomer" that way.

  • Yesterday he said: "Mom, come into the bathroom, I want to show you something" (never a good thing....) He proceeded to show me how he can go while standing up (something i have tried to teach him in the past....he always sits down--I'm not complaining). He was so proud of himself. I asked him where he learned to do that and he said that he just made it up--"but wasn't that awesome???"

  • And finally, Bridger and Kennedy were both crying this morning. I was holding Bridger and he was concerned that I was going to pick up Kennedy too (I guess he wanted me all to himself). I told him that I wasn't going to and then Kennedy came over saying "I want to sit on mommy's lap". Bridger said: "No, mom--don't let her! She wants your brain! If you let her sit on your lap she will suck your brain out and you won't be able to think anymore. Don't take her brain Kennedy!" Well, Kennedy was rather dumbfounded. At least it stopped the crying :)

I love that kid! He is hilarious! He has such an active imagination. I think it's so cute how he wears his helmet most the time. Kennedy is just a sweetheart too. I would love to be in Bridger's head for just a minute...he is always thinking of something :)
