Easter Festivities Part I

Easter has got to be one of the funnest holidays!  First, we went to the Nielson Easter Party, where my kids somehow scored two buckets to use in their search for eggs.  Although, it was probably more of a hinder than a help to them!

Bridger scored with some lego's and a sword.  This kid can put lego's together faster than anyone I know.  You just don't want to be around if the pieces don't fit quite right, if they fall off when they're not supposed to or if they won't come off when they are supposed to.  Oh, the wrath!  Yes, the lego's get a lecture...

Kennedy is in heaven with her little tea set!  As soon as we got home we had tea over and over and over again.  And always with the reassurance from her that it's just "pretend" tea :)

Jeremy, just along for the ride :)  He was doing all of the chasing and helping--I just stood in one spot and tried to take pictures.  No running for me :)

They were helping each other find their prizes, Bridger could recognize his name, and Kennedy was on the look out for a 'K', but sometimes she just needed a little help--and Bridger loves to be her rescuer!

She got this pink bottle of bubbles, but I think she was a little confused when she came up to me and asked me to open it for her so she could drink it....

And Jordan found the golden egg (Bridger and Kennedy's oldest cousin)!  Bridger was sure jealous--he has vowed to win it next year--he's already forming his game plan...watch out Jordan!

This is our only family picture from Easter...sad!  I was helping Kennedy put on her flip-flops, her other treasure from the day.  And yes, it was a little chilly outside, but that didn't stop her!  And luckily, she just had her toes painted red, so she was anxious to show them off :)  I don't think she's ever worn real flip-flops before, she looked a little like Frankenstein while trying to walk around in them!

Oh, the food!  Jer's family makes the best food!  So many salads to choose from...and everything's always so festive!

The next week we had our city easter egg hunt.  There were so many people there!  They started the hunt by blowing the fire truck horn--Bridger took off, carefully picking up only his favorite candies.  Kennedy started to cry--I think all that commotion made her nervous!  So, I helped her out a little, when we were through I noticed that she had only picked up candies with pink wrappers!  And there was one green one--that she got for Bridger (it's his favorite color).

The highlight of the day for Kennedy was taking her picture with Miss South Jordan.  Kennedy was obsessed with her crown and hoped that the "princess" would notice her crown as well (her headband--she calls them crowns...) Sure enough, the princess loved Kennedy's 'crown' and Kennedy was beaming!

The next stop was a picture with the Easter Bunny--Bridger passed on this one and Kennedy was a little shy too.  Do you ever wonder who they get to dress up in these costumes?  Well, we knew who it was this time...one of Jeremy's co-workers.  He rides a Harley, has a voice like Jack Bauer and takes an interest in cage fighting--but he made for a great bunny! :)

These kids can never look at me for a picture!  Just be a real boy for a second, Bridger!

That is one heck of an Easter - it is fast becoming one of my favorite holidays. And, I think I need to join in on the next Nielson food festival! I LOVE salads, but no one else wants to venture outside of green salad :( And, good to know Jack Bauer works for South Jordan, I feel safer!

So cute, I laughed while I read the whole thing! The Nielsons do have great parties, and what great treats for the kids! Cute that Kennedy chose only pink candies with one green for Bridger :)
