To Never Never Land!

Happy Halloween!  This year the kids suggested to dress up like Peter Pan.

:)

What?

You don't believe it was their idea?

Okay, fine.

I had to bribe them.

But in the end, they loved it.  And bribery isn't really as bad as you think...Bridger ended up LOVING being Peter Pan--he had a dagger for crying out loud!  With a sheath!  Kennedy didn't take much convincing.  As long as it's a dress of some kind and as long as she gets to wear lipstick....  Plus it was only an added bonus when I told her that Peter Pan loved Wendy...  And Charlotte?  Well, she could care less so I get to be in charge of her with no bribing for a while :)

Aren't these the most amazing pictures?  My friend Emilie took them for me and I love how she captured their personalities!  Kennedy...oh Kennedy...she has learned how to pose in front of the camera---such big blue eyes!  She is such a sweetie--and yet such a mastermind (...of the evil genius variety...)   Oh, and I should probably mention that whenever Kennedy said "Peter"--she said it in an english accent...and on Halloween day, we could only call her Wendy.  Guess she was just trying to stay in character....  When Bridger got home from school that day, she even told him that she had his shadow in the upstairs drawer and she would sew it on to his feet if he wanted.  Bridger just looked at her and said "I don't want anything sewn onto my feet!!!"

And that....was the end of that...

I have wanted Bridger to be Peter Pan for a few years and I figured this was my last chance, now that he is getting older (so sad!!!)  He loved his costume, and it really fit his personality too--he is so imaginative and playful, just like the real Peter!

And Charlotte was the perfect little Tink.  She is mischevious, jealous, outgoing and LOVES to be the center of attention.  Where did this child come from?!?  She is the only one in the family that love to be the center of attention!  But I love it.  On Halloween, she was waving at everybody.  She is the perfect sharer too...while trick-or-treating she would exchange one piece of candy for anther all night long.  She would have ended the night with only one piece too...if Bridger and Kennedy hadn't taught her proper Halloween etiquette... 'Take It All' ---only kidding of course!
We started out the night was a yummy Halloween dinner--the traditional Mummy Dogs and rotel dip with halloween nachos!  And then we went trick-or-treating!  We found Halloween Street in our neighborhood--every house on this street was a graveyard--we had a zombie chase my mom down the street screaming (my mom was screaming, not the zombie...)  And then there was a graveyard, where zombies rose from the dead to do a choreographed dance to "Thriller".  It was so great!  We started early enough in the evening that we didn't have to worry about the kids being chased with chainsaws...that was a bonus...

My parents came in from California to see Bridger in his Halloween parade!  He looked so nervous!  And practically ran past us, so all I got was a blurry picture!  But that's okay--he was so stinkin cute!

After the parade, we had his class party.  The kids in his class were so cute and we had so many parents help out that it turned out to be a lot of fun.

Eat that cookie, Bridger--you haven't had enough sugar yet....  HA!
