Our Stay-cation and Marathon!

Last weekend, I ran the Ogden marathon....relay that is. Okay, there is just no way my body can go 26 miles, but 6 I can do. I was invited to run with my friends Kara, Tara, Jessica and Michelle. It was a blast! Got really sweaty and really sore, but I'd still call it a good time. I even got a medal--not just anyone got one--you had to finish to get one :) it's really shiny.

And can I just say how thrilling it was for me to watch everybody--especially those full-marathoners--cross the finish line? It was down right emotional! I loved it when, at the end of the race, the runner's family would jump in there with them and they would cross the finish line together--how sweet!

I so looked forward to seeing Jer, Bridg and Kennedy when I finished my portion. Bridger gave me a great big hug--he didn't care that I was all sweaty (and boy was I...), but he did tell me that I smelled like leaves (could be worse).....
We had two teams running the relay and lucky for me, I was able to run with a fun girl, Sherrie, I guess we pushed each other to run faster, cause I don't think I've ever run so fast--and neither had she! Funny how that works.

Here I am at my finish line giving my time chip to Kara. It was such a beautiful race--all down the canyon. In between breaths, I would look up and enjoy the snow covered mountains, the green pastures, the horses and the beautiful lake. It was gorgeous! The weather was perfect, and I would love to do this again next year.

Kennedy and Bridger loved my medal

almost as much as I did :)

We stayed for a few nights up in the canyon--we entertained ourselves with the cooler. First, I gave Bridger and Kennedy a ride, then they gave me one......not really....

We brought our bikes with us and even though I was dead tired, exhausted and otherwise almost unable to walk, we went for a ride :)

No, really, it was fun. We found this cute old building--a fun backdrop for pictures. Bridger took this one of me and Jer--and I think he did a great job! I was really impressed considering he never even looked at the screen--lucky shot.

Here is the dam. Jeremy just desperately wanted me to "swear" in a blog post. Happy now???

And on our way home, we stopped for a good ole mountain hike--our first one of the year (yippee!). I am so excited it is hiking season again

However, much to my suprise, Bridger's imagination has grown--in fact, exponentially since last summer. While hiking, he wondered if Heavenly Father created trees, who created spooky trees?? And then, all of a sudden "what's that?" Ummm...tree roots? I guess they did kinda look like creatures emerging from the earth.... Then, Bridger informed us that he prefers to only hike in the sunlight--no in the shadows. The shadows are spooky. Okay, so we will stick to the desert? Has this kid been reading twilight???

We'll just have to ease him into it, I guess. Crazy kid. Kennedy's a breeze. She just needs something to snack on. She's like a little monkey on your back--a little happy monkey.

I'm so proud of you for running! good for you...by the way, You are so brave to put a swear word in your post but I'm sorry to say you spelled it wrong - it has an "n" on the end of it...I'm not proud that I know that:)

I am so proud of you for running the relay. Just love the pictures, the ones of you breathless at the end of the race, playing at the lodge, outdoors, th picture Jeremy wanted on the blog, the outdoors, they made me smile the whole time. What nice friends you have. Bridger is so adorable. He is a good picture taker. Kennedy is so cute. I like her little sundress. I sure miss all of you. You and Jeremy are cute too, and how romantic that he said you smell like leaves after running 6 miles.

Mom, Bridger said I smelled like leaves--not Jeremy (that would not have been something I would blog about) :)

Good job on the race! You are such a better runner than me. (I finally got new shoes though so I'll see if that makes a difference!) (Not that I will be faster than you still but maybe I'll be faster than I was before.)

You guys look so good when you are hiking and biking. I need to start wearing cute clothes when I'm outdoors and not my grubby grubs.
