Rodeo!

We spent an evening at the Salt Lake County Fair last week.  This was our family's first rodeo and it won't be our last!  We had a lot of fun.  But before I go on...does anybody else have this problem where their kids strangle each other in pictures?  It's a problem for us...

See what I mean???
Kennedy didn't get into the rodeo too much in the beginning.  She spent more time staring, kissing, hugging, touching and basically harrassing little Charlotte (who was sitting in Jer's lap--that's who she was looking at during this picture)
Bridger, on the other hand, was a little intense.  He loved those big bulls, he loved the rodeo clowns and the wild horses.  He loved it all.  You might not guess that from this face he is making, but I know Bridger.  This is his "I love it" face.
And this?  This is the face Charlotte makes when she is eying Kennedy.  Waiting for the next attack of hugs and kisses.
Isn't this the prettiest view?
This was Kennedy's favorite part.  I don't know if she would have loved as much if the girl were wearing a blue jacket though...  She did tricks on her horse:  upside down, sideways, backwards, on and off and on again, it was really fun to watch.  And I guess she's still in high school!  Pretty impressive.  I was in the marching band...

On to the money cow...  I have to admit that at first I thought they kept saying the "bunny Cow".  In my defense, the speakers were really garbled, but I couldn't imagine for the life of me what a "bunny cow" was....

So, the kids both wanted to do it.  Bridger was all excited--I was hoping Kennedy would stay back since she was by far the smallest one out there, but she didn't.  One of the cows looped by Bridger and the next thing I know, Bridger came running back in my direction with tears streaming down his face.

Apparently, he's not big into competition.  He didn't like the other kids being able to run faster than him and he especially didn't like the fact that they were grabbing money and we wasn't!  So, he was out :)

Can you see Kennedy out there?  She ran with the best of them.  I was getting a little nervous for her actually, since the cow was bigger than her!  In the end, she came back crying too--she was the last one off the field.  I figured she was crying because she was scared or lonely.  Nope.  She was crying because she didn't get any money.  Well, I gave them each a dollar and all was well :)

The End.

Love the photos. Bridger crying made me so sad! Thank goodness you paid them both! And how gorgeous are you in the last photo? Bridger looks just like Jeremy when he has his "I love it" face on. Kennedy's skirt is so cute and miss Charlotte looks terrified of Kennedy!! :) Love it.

Another great story! You outdid yourself!!! Kennedy strangling Bridger, Kennedy's funny face being so enthralled with Charlotte and Charlotte's worried face! Bridger crying.....love that expression. I can since I'm the grandmother and only have to deal with the fun stuff. Kennedy's hair is so long :)
