April Fools!

Oh, April Fools...I remember my mom sometimes playing tricks on us...then again...I don't know if they ever actually fell on April Fools Day.  Imagine this...you're 8 years old at your first sleep over...you're up late telling scary stories and then you hear someone outside scratching on the window screen....  yeah, it was my mom.

Then there was the time she met me at the bus stop (in the 8th grade) with my Grammy and all of my younger siblings...they were all wearing those mustache glasses and yelling my name.  "I was adopted" was my excuse to the kids on the bus :)

So, I figured a few innocent pranks would be good for them :)

They had juice for breakfast...only it wasn't juice...it was jello.  Took a while for them to figure out why it wouldn't go up the straw!

Then we had cereal...only the milk was frozen.

"Why is it so hard???" says Bridger in the whiniest, crying-ist voice possible.

"Because it's FROZEN!!!!  April Fools!"  I exclaim.

He bursts into tears.

Hmmm....that one didn't go so well!

Kennedy tried to force that spoon into her cereal!!!

Then, later that evening when we had our Friday night babysitting group over, we had dinner all over again.  I told them they needed to eat two dinners tonight if they wanted a treat later...chicken nuggets and mashed potatoes and gravy...

Only it wasn't.

More like a donut with ice-cream and caramel sauce.  April Fools again!  They seemed to like the joke this time :)

And don't worry--Bridger got me back.  He came home from school, threw his backpack on the ground and sheepishly told me that he got a "yellow" at school that day.  As soon as I raised my eyebrows and inhaled at the beginning of a lecture he yelled April Fools to me....very clever...he almost got grounded... :)

Hehe- cute ideas! I wanted to do frozen milk in the cereal too, but it wouldn't fit in our stuffed little freezer...

So funny...I did the frozen cereal too and had a full-on crier telling me "That was so mean!" I had to explain I was just trying to have fun on April Fool's.

That's a great idea! The milk looks normal in the cereal! Would have gotten me too!

I think it's HILARIOUS that Bridger got you back too! What a little smarty pants!
