Go To Get Gold!

On St. Patrick's Day, our little leprechaun friend came to visit us again.  He only bothers to stop by if you try to set a trap for him...we are starting to think it's impossible to catch one!

As you can see, he pulled all sorts of pranks on us this year.  I personally thought the hanging of the dolls by a string from the banister was a little sinister if not gruesome....but the kids seemed to think it was funny :)

Here is the trap we set.  Bridger had to make one as a project for school (Oh, to be in Kindergarten again!!!)  There was a sign on top---to lure that little guy in there.  And then he would trip the string which would pull the pencil down and then the box would come crashing down!  There were also bells on all sides to alert us as to when the trap was set.

I thought it was a genius trap, but it's hard when we don't have access to magic (at least that's what Bridger said!)  As a reward for our efforts, our leprechaun did leave us some silver candy.

But not before he toilet papered the house...

Turned all the chairs upside down....

And disheveled all the pillows...man that really irks me!  ...(all while my brother slept peacefully on the floor in his blanket cocoon...see bottom right corner...)

Oh, he also tied the fridge shut.

That evening we enjoyed our Irish dinner of corned beef and cabbage and my kids downed it!  Cabbage and all!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Wow! I am glad that tricky leprechaun didn't make it all the way to our house! Must have been too busy with his tricks at your house! :)
