Our Adventurous Weekend

We had so much fun this weekend--Jer took Friday off of work, so we decided to have an adventure. The first pictures are from Saturday, we drove up to Little Cottonwood Canyon and did the Temple Quarry hike--it was really easy, so it was fun to take the kids and let them explore everything. The weather was nice (but a little windy) and the scenery is always gorgeous.

We even saw a mountain goat! Can you spot it? (I know, its a little like "where's waldo"...) Here's a hint: look at the bottom center of the picture.




Bridger had a great time collecting sticks and even managed to poke all of us in the face with them at some point (shocking, isn't it...) They eventually had to be confiscated. :)

Apparently the hike was much more exhausting than we intended...

On Friday we went out to Sand Mountain (Little Sahara). We had so much fun! We didn't have any 4-Wheelers but we loved just running up the sand dunes and then jumping off. Jer and I would jump off, but Bridger preferred the sliding on the belly method (which resulted in quite a bit of sand in his mouth...he didn't seem to mind too much)


Kennedy is such a good sport, she is always along for the ride and never complains. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to play in the sand too much, it was a little windy and we didn't want it to get in her eyes. But she loved watching us run and jump all around her!




On our way out of the park, we saw a herd of sheep in the middle of the road. They came right up to the windows and it was kinda fun to watch them. Then the cowboy sheep-herder came riding up to us and asked if he could borrow our cell phone. He was from Peru and only spoke Spanish (so Jer had fun brushing up on those skills!)--He let us pet his horse even asked Bridger if he wanted a ride (um, thanks but no thanks...)

After a tub full of sand, we were all clean and ready for a nap!
