Day Seven

Today we got to see a musical at the Confederation Center in downtown Charlottetown. It was called 'British InvasionII: America Strikes Back' --over 90 rock and roll songs were sung, some from Britian and some from the U.S.--the music was great! It was such a great show--Mick Jagger was the best (the guy that played him kicked his legs nonstop and his lips were constantly protruding!). Also great were Michael Jackson, the Beegees (How do you even spell that???) and James Brown. I went with Sean and my mom. Grammy (who had already seen it) was so nice to stay home with Kennedy.

This afternoon--we went to the Dunes Cafe for lunch. I love that place! It is so pretty--they have a beautiful flower garden in the back and they also have a large vegetable garden where they grow all the produce they cook with (or at least when in season...).
I had the lobster roll and it was really good, but the best part was the bread pudding for dessert--it was to die for! Cranberry and apple with almonds and brown sugar sauce...soooo good....

They always top their food with edible flowers. Not suprisingly, my mom wanted to eat hers :) --she said it tasted pretty good and fed a few petals to Kennedy (who--once again--wasn't too impressed!)

Here is a vase that they sell--it's called an Ikebana (japanese) or something like that...there is a little frog (small spiky circular thing that holds the flowers upright) on the bottom and then you fill the dish with water. I think they are the neatest thing ever! They had some with flowers over 3 feet tall standing straight up! So, one is definetly coming home with me. The man who owns the Dunes Cafe and Studio makes all the pottery that is sold there and all the dishes we ate off of--makes for a fun memory too!

Kennedy has become my little strawberry shorcake! She loves food in general--but she cannot get enough strawberries! You'll hear a dainty little grunt, followed by a rocking of her body and kicking of her legs. If you wait too long, her body language gets more and more dramatic. This is her way of saying: "I want more!". The only problem is....she always wants more!!!
Finally, here we are in front of a sand sculpture (yes, it really is sand!). They are on display downtown right now. So amazing that they are so big and sturdy--they have even lasted through a couple of rain showers! (it's a potato in case you were wondering...I guess this is a big crop and major staple on the Island)
