Little Dancer

This little girl is so fun!  We put her in a summer time dance class in my favorite old neighborhood.  My friend "feather" (really, it's Heather, but I can't seem to convince Kennedy of that....) was her teacher and she was so awesome!  Kennedy looked forward to class every week--she loved practicing in the array of colorful tutus that she owns.  We just had to be careful not to over-accesorize, it became a distraction after a while...

But for this special night, we gave her pink lip gloss, curled her pony tail, glitter on her eyes and she got to wear the most perfectly pink ballerina costume.  She was in HEAVEN!!!

At first I wondered what I would do for an hour each time she had a class.  But the 4 weeks flew by as I visited one of my favorite stores--Broadbents--a few times or visited with my much missed neighbors.  Have I mentioned that I love my old neighbors??? :)

So, here are pictures from her dance recital.  The girls (most of them were 5--Kennedy was only 2!  She was pretty much the same size as the other girls, so I didn't realize the huge age difference!) did a fun ribbon dance first.  Mostly, Kennedy was looking at the audience waiting for someone to tell her how cute she is (she does that...) and then looking at the other girls to see how cute they were.  We had just painted her nails and toes pink for the occasion, and I caught her studying the other girls' nails as well.  I know this girl.  She has a mind like me :)

Yes, it is not an optical illusion.  All of the girls are twirling their ribbons except Kennedy....she's deep in thought :)

Love how she's looking right at me during the dance!  This was her favorite part--the group dancing.  And that little Chloe, with the blonde hair, is the cutest girl!  She never let Kennedy miss her cue!

They danced to '99 red balloons' so it was only fitting that they released the balloons.  While the other girls kept dancing, Kennedy watched until they disappeared into outer space...

Such cute girls!

And let's not forget the reason we signed up at all--the refreshements!!!  Of course, that's not why I signed her up, but my kids sure loved it :)  I just love Kennedy's eyes--sometimes it's hard to get mad at her when she does something wrong because she's staring at me with those big blue eyes!  But, in my defense, I'm a lot better than her dad...  :)

Kennedy and her "Feather".  She is always wanting Heather to come over and play!

And last but not least, we have another dancer in the making.  My dad took Charlotte over to the baton's and she clutched onto one and started swinging it all over the place.  She is the strongest 2 month old I have ever seen!  Well, with the exception of Bridger and Kennedy....my kids inherited my freakish polish strength....let me put it this way....it's not a successful shopping trip if you don't carry all the grocery bags into the house in one trip...it may leave bruises....but it saves energy in the long run :)

My bubble blowing baby!  She is so kissable!!!

What a treat for me! Some observations.......Bridger has Jeremy's body and Kennedy has yours......Bridger looks like Jeremy with a hint of you, and Kennedy looks like you with a hint of Jeremy......I loved that night, a memory forever........freakish Polish Horst strenth (makes me laugh!) carrying 5 gallons of milk in one hand and astonishing Jeremy!
