The first week of December was my cute nieces' birthday. Madison turned 9 this year, and every year on her birthday--South Jordan City has their Light the Night Celebration. I think they do it just for her too :) So...every year we get to enjoy ice skating around the festive Christmas tree!
Before we got all bundled up, however, the kids all got to open a special present. Jer's parents, Alan and Shauna gave them all beautiful Christmas outfits for church. They were all excited!
Charlotte is still learning how to unwrap gifts. She seems to think she can get to the present faster if she lays on top of it...
Don't they look adorable! Charlotte got a little black and white plaid skirt with a cute black sweater. I don't know why I didn't get a picture of her....probably cause she was trying to eat the camera...
And there's Joel with his new outfit...oh, wait! That would be Hudson's :)
The cute birthday girl--Madison
It takes forever to dress up all these kids for the snow! But, we did it.
I think Charlotte really enjoyed all the pretty Christmas lights. There were a LOT more people here this year than ever before, so we actually had to wait in line for things.... There was free ice skating, visits with Santa, free hot chocolate and cookies and free sleigh rides. The kids wanted to ride in the wagon the most, so that's what we waited in line for :)
Bridger and Kennedy just LOVE all of their cousins!
It's like a mini Rockefeller Christmas tree--and you can ice skate all the way around it! They even do lessons through the city--I think we might do that this year--and when I say "we" I really mean "me"--I have no clue how to ice skate! Of course, in Florida, there wasn't a lot of opportunity to practice....
Proof that I was there!
My nephew Hudson
And we finally got on the sleigh ride. We sang Christmas songs all the way--we even sang Happy Birthday to Madison too. What a great way to start the Christmas season!
