A few weeks ago we were able to pick out our Christmas tree as a family. We picked a great weekend to do it. It was cozy 8 degrees outside. Can't you tell by the kid's faces???
I should also mention that this was right after we received about 2 feet of snow. So....finding the perfect tree was really easy. As we got to the tree lot, a few of the employees said hi to us as they ran past us into the nice warm building. We were left to our own devices. We were brave. We almost got frostbite. All while Christmas tree workers watched from the window.

| How about this one? It looks good don't you think??? I know it has just a little snow on it...but I'd say it's very symmetrical.... |
It looks like the car was driving away without me... don't worry. They would never do that.
After we warmed up a bit, the kids decorated the kitchen while Jer and I got to work on setting up the Christmas tree. Looks cute, right? Well, until Charlotte shoved an entire ornament in her mouth I thought so too.
We decorated the tree over the next three days. Things just take longer when there's a little monster crawling around trying to eat everything!
I love paper ornaments! My goal is to have an entire tree decorated with paper and homemade ornaments. My only problem is that my strokes of genius come in december--when there's never any time! So, I'm thinking Christmas in March next year....anybody with me??
The kids set up the nativities--their very favorite part
There is nothing better than a pine-y smelling, sparkling and twinkling Christmas tree. I love the way it smells. I love how now there are no ornaments on the bottom third of the tree...and I love the way the pine needles shed all over the carpet :) Actually, I really don't mind that. It smells even better after you vacuum it all up. Seriously. You should try it.
Next year we want to get some kind of 'Christmas tree cutting permit'--anybody know anything about that?

Me! Me! I want to make paper ornaments! And I LOVE the nativity blocks! Did you make those as well?
Great idea to choose the coldest night ever to pick your tree!!!! lol That was funny with all the snow on the trees too!! Even before I read a word, I thought "gee, Bridger and Kennedy look like icicles!" Your tree is beautiful, did you crystalize the glass balls? They are really pretty that way. I love the paper ornaments too! Where did you get the nativity set? It is sure a nice one :) I'm glad they enjoy it. What does the little crawling monster think of everything? She is the perfect age for a baby at Christmas. Miss you....
so cute, can you come and decorate my tree? make the ornaments and everything?! If you go at night up the canyon and are sneaky, maybe you don't need a permit?!
Your tree is beautiful! Well, I'm not surprised because anything you touch ends up beautiful. So talented!
