Day One

We are finally here!! Kennedy and I didn't even wake up until 11:00--of course, there is a 3 hour time difference, but still, it was kind of nice. Before lunch, we headed out to downtown Charlottetown where they have a free performance, depicting some of Canada's history. This summer, it was the Confederate dancers of Quebec (or something like that...) and it was all in french. It was still fun to watch and listen to. It was basically a mini historical musical. What made it really entertaining was one guy--he was french and had a huge afro--and a lot of energy. He reminded me of some kind of free living forest animal--bambi perhaps... Anyway, the funniest part was when he started rapping----in french. Really weird!!

Anne was there! We weren't able to get our picture with her, but it was fun seeing her!
Here are some really sweet pictures--of Kennedy and some beautiful strawberries! My mom could not quit drooling over the strawberries (or Kennedy for that matter...) :) She thinks everything is prettier and just tastes better on the Island--I would have to agree. Come to think of it, so would Sean (my little brother)--he enjoyed everybite of his hot dog for dinner :)
We also went to the grocery store today. I know that doesn't sound like a lot of fun, but I love buying the yummy canadian cookies and candy bars that I used to eat every summer when we would come up here. My favorites are the Maple Cookies and the sponge toffee chocolate bars. They are so good!

We had mussells--fresh from the Island--for dinner and they were soooo good! After dinner, we walked down the boardwalk (which is right across from where Grammy lives) and got some ice cream, Kennedy really liked having a few licks (so did my mom)!

On our way home, we got to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the bay--it is so fun because there are lighthouses everywhere. Tomorrow we get to go to the Farmers Market!

I can't tell you how jealous I am of you right now. PEI has always been like a fairy tale place for me. You are in a fairy tale. Enjoy every second and breathe in the island air. I think I'm going to go watch my Anne movies - or read the books.

Just an FYI Sean,(Lindsay's little brother) took the photo of the lighthouse and needs credit for his beautiful skills.
